For over 35 years, DR Horton has been building homes across the United States. In our area, they are known for building a lot of "Spec" homes which are homes built with no particular buyer in mind... move-in ready! They do provide a bit more "standard amenities" over Adams Homes, but at a slightly higher price. With 18 new home communities across the MS Gulf Coast, and more coming, DR Horton has positioned themselves as the home builder with ready-to-sell inventory.
DR Horton does pay for closing costs as long as you use one of their preferred lenders and also provides a Bonded Builders Warranty. They also have an in-house mortgage company (DHI Mortgage) that gives you an extra incentive to use them over a local mortgage company.

Several months ago, I decided to relocate to another state. I decided to talk with a Realtor about selling my home. He told me that because of the location of the property I would have a difficult time selling. I decided to just put a sign in front of the house and see what would happen.
